Spring at last! Last of three posts from the green market at Blok 44. I'll let these images speak for themselves about the joys of shopping in the green markets on belgradestreets. Have a great weekend!

pijaca 44
Time does not stand still in the markets on belgradestreets. People stand, eat, deal, arrange, serve, measure. Stare. Visit. You will never want to visit a modern supermarket again. Anywhere.
faces on blok 44
Faces tell all. Joy, pain, love, fear, sorrow, longing. These faces live below Blok 44 in Novi Beograd. Buses, trams, cars, trucks trundle by on the street above. Passengers oblivious of the faces, the lives, below? Looking for inspiration when preparing this post, I found these words which I'd like to share... "To think, for … Continue reading faces on blok 44
Луке Вукаловића
I've been away this last week. I swapped belgradestreets for the streets of Algiers. I learned a lot in a short time. Once I thought I knew my place in the world. The more I travel, the more I experience, the less certain I am of my place. And the more certain I become that … Continue reading Луке Вукаловића
Weekly Photo Challenge: Future Tense
"Well, I woke up this morning, I got myself a beer Well, I woke up this morning, and I got myself a beer The future's uncertain, and the end is always near" Lyrics from "Roadhouse blues" by The Doors This is my response to the latest Weekly Photo Challenge from The Daily Post at WordPress.
locked on gavrila principa
Closed. Locked. So many doors, hiding so many secrets. A lifetime could be spent opening doors on belgradestreets. Will you turn the key?
Interview | Belgrade Streets Photography
Check out this interview that I gave recently to Sara and the photos that she selected to go with the words. And take a look at her own great blog, Arhitektura + at http://arhitekturaplus.wordpress.com/about/
I’m proud to present one of my blogger friends’ efforts here and invite you to see some awesome work by Belgrade Streets photography. I invited Andy to answer a few questions about his work that I have been following on his blog. I found it hard to pick my favorite photo on his blog so here is a couple I have chosen that I think sums up Belgrade Streets so well. A fresh, personal view of the city that is completely honest, and confounding to much of Serbia’s reputation. Great to see photographers, under their own motivation, creating their own work under their own voice, and finding ways to get it seen on their terms. I’m looking forward to seeing more from this photographer. Here is 10 @ 10 with Andy.

Phoneography Challenge: My Neighborhood
Lightning crackled in the sky. Thunder rolled across the corrugated roofing. Rain streamed down the tramlines. Oncoming lights pierced the gathering gloom. "Don't let me down" he said... This is my response to the "Phoneography challenge: My neighbourhood" from The Daily Post at WordPress.
балканска
A gritty cobbled street through the heart of belgradestreets. Real people live, work and pass along this street. Walking this street from home, to school, to work. Holding hands, sharing dreams. Anything can be found in the shops that line this street. All you need is hope and a dream. "Now the cards I've drawn's … Continue reading балканска
angels and demons
Graffiti provokes a response. Emotional. Visceral. Basic. A cry. These belgradestreets; the people who live, love and work here, provoke me. Graffiti enrages, captures, beguiles us. I'd like to share a line of poetry, and a heartfelt thank you... "For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror which we are still just able to … Continue reading angels and demons
