Memories of hope and love. Memories of suffering and loss. Walking in the road, careless of cars. Evening air warming the soul. Dashed expectations. Chances lost. Dreams on hold. Hope remains. Photographs captured on Ilford Delta 3200 on Olympus OM10.

crveni krst
In 1595 the Ottoman Grand Vizier, Sinan Pasha, burned the relics of Saint Sava, somewhere on the Vračar hill. After two centuries, the exact location remained unknown. A majority of scholars agreed on a location on top of the hill, where the Hram Svetog Save now sits. According to some, the Serbian publisher Gligorije Vozarović … Continue reading crveni krst
Кајмакчаланска
After the excitement of the exhibition. Time to get back to belgradestreets. An evening in Spring. Cafes humming. Roses blooming. Church bells ringing. People talking. Life calling. Don't miss the call. Don't miss the chance to love. Live. Before it's too late.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Pattern
There is a pattern to everything. Maybe our destiny is shaped by a pattern. Patterns sometimes hard to describe; hard to follow. The universe will unfold as it should. The pattern will be followed. Or should we break the pattern. Make our own, shape our destiny?
easter in belgrade
Men stand to the right Women stand to the left. Bowing and crossing themselves. The clacking sound of the klepalo replacing the bells during this time of sadness and reflection. The priest strides back and forth swinging incense among the faithful. The soft susurration of the priests chanting, haunting and contemplative. The icons look down. … Continue reading easter in belgrade
Луке Вукаловића
I've been away this last week. I swapped belgradestreets for the streets of Algiers. I learned a lot in a short time. Once I thought I knew my place in the world. The more I travel, the more I experience, the less certain I am of my place. And the more certain I become that … Continue reading Луке Вукаловића

She wondered what lay behind the locked door. Turning the key she opened the door. She walked on down the hall. Light shot through the darkness. She needed an answer. And that tune, those words, haunted her. "There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure 'Cause you know sometimes words have … Continue reading stairway to heaven
locked on gavrila principa
Closed. Locked. So many doors, hiding so many secrets. A lifetime could be spent opening doors on belgradestreets. Will you turn the key?
Interview | Belgrade Streets Photography
Check out this interview that I gave recently to Sara and the photos that she selected to go with the words. And take a look at her own great blog, Arhitektura + at http://arhitekturaplus.wordpress.com/about/
I’m proud to present one of my blogger friends’ efforts here and invite you to see some awesome work by Belgrade Streets photography. I invited Andy to answer a few questions about his work that I have been following on his blog. I found it hard to pick my favorite photo on his blog so here is a couple I have chosen that I think sums up Belgrade Streets so well. A fresh, personal view of the city that is completely honest, and confounding to much of Serbia’s reputation. Great to see photographers, under their own motivation, creating their own work under their own voice, and finding ways to get it seen on their terms. I’m looking forward to seeing more from this photographer. Here is 10 @ 10 with Andy.

angels and demons
Graffiti provokes a response. Emotional. Visceral. Basic. A cry. These belgradestreets; the people who live, love and work here, provoke me. Graffiti enrages, captures, beguiles us. I'd like to share a line of poetry, and a heartfelt thank you... "For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror which we are still just able to … Continue reading angels and demons
